What it involves
Before sanding we repair what is broken. We take out the damaged blocks and fit new ones matched to the old. Loose blocks are glued back and gaps are filled. Only then do we sand and finish the whole floor.
When it is a good choice
- The parquet creaks and the blocks move.
- A few blocks are missing or damaged by a flood.
- There are wide gaps between the blocks.
Good to know
New blocks always differ slightly in colour from the old ones until the floor has been sanded and finished. After that the difference usually almost disappears. We judge the amount of repair after looking at the floor or at photos, because the working time and the cost depend on it. If the blocks are coming away from the base over the whole area, the floor may need to be laid again, which we cover under parquet installation.
